We should have buried them - Moore

Last updated : 10 October 2009 By Deano
A late equaliser from the visitors blew the Milelrs chances of going top, and after Bournemouth lost, Moore was left to reflect on missed opportunities from his side.

He fumed to the post match media: "We should have been out of sight.

"How we weren't 4-0 up at half time is just beyond me. We had so many chances to win the game but we know what can happen if you don't take the chances when they come.

"I can't remember Andy Warrington having a save to make but we came off having dropped points, no disrespect to Hereford but we should have buried them today."

Moore continued: "We have put in some magnificent balls from set plays and we hit the bar when we should have scored. It is great that we are creating opportunities but if you don't score then you need to be rock solid and I just think that one of the centre halves made the wrong decision, he should have cleared the ball, he left it for someone else and we have been punished.

"We have Notts County next week but I am not worried about that, I know we will turn up for that game. What worries me is that we went to Northampton and we didn't perform, we should have been out of sight today, so there are one or two little things to work on."

Nick Fenton came off injured just after the break and Moore confimed:"He has got a dead leg, he wanted to keep going but unfortunately it didn't work for him.

"I thought Marc Joseph came on and did well and dealt with most things. I just felt that we got ruffed up too much in the second half. The big lad came on for them and I felt that he dictated to our centre backs where we were going and what we were doing.

"We have to be bigger and better than that, we cannot be defending on the edge of our box, we need to be going down the other end and finishing them off."
