We never got started - Knill

Speaking after the game to Radio Sheffield, Knill said, "We just didnt get started, in our previous two games we have come out and started stright away. Tonight it took us thirty minutes to make a tackle or a header and gave them the impetus."

"I thought we were lucky to go in half time at one all, Gary Montgomery made some great saves, but we were grateful for one-all. You think you can change it, then second half we go out and they score stright after half-time a soft goal and your really struggling."

"We huffed and puffed all night but never never threatened. I thought all over the pitch we were second best. This is a big club, big crowd and if your second best then you usually end up losing."

"You can't afford to lose any game over Christmas, the fact that its Bristol City, we play Tranmere on Tuesday it will be the same sort of game, we're all fighting for points. Every game is exactly the same."

The defeat puts the Millers back in the relegation zone, "You just dont want to be in there, but its so close, its exaclty the same as it was before. If you put two wins together you climb up the table, if you lose one then you slip back in, so the objective for us is not to lose on Saturday and start climbing the table."

There was one shock in tonights line-up with Gary Montgomery coming in for Neil Cutler who had broken his jaw on Boxing day, "He's seen a specialist today, we think it's going to be 14 days before he can train and 4 weeks before he can play again. It's dissapointing as he has played really well in the last 2 games, but thats football. Monty's come and and done well."

Looking ahead of the game against Gypo Rovers on NYE, Knill said "There's no better incentive is there?, We're in the bottom four and we all think we're a better team and the 2 performances before have showed that. But tonight we didnt show up, we didnt acquit ourselves as good as the last 2 games. That's why we lost tonight, but thats also the reason we have to roll our sleeves up and look forward to Saturday."
