Thornber bows out with three points

After two draws with Morecambe and Cheltenham, Thornber saw his side stroll to a 3-0 triumph and says he's enjoyed every minute of his time in charge.

"It has been fantastic, I have really enjoyed it and I think that the lads have taken to me," he told the post match media.

"I have enjoyed the coaching; we did some work with the back four this week so it is pleasing that we have got a cleansheet today against a team that score goals.

"It was a fantastic performance and I thought that the back four were absolutely magnificent. We did our homework; we knew that Barnet had pace in wide areas but Jamie Green and Dale Tonge snuffed out any danger from their wingers. We knew that we needed to stop the crosses and apart from a period just before our second goal I thought we did that.

"Today I felt that we stifled them in all departments. I think that Barnet thought that when they came here they might be able to steam roller us but we were thoroughly professional in all areas.

"I have always said that we will be there or thereabouts come the end of the season," he added.

"They are a good bunch of lads. We set targets when I first came in and if we can get something down at Northampton on Tuesday we will have met those targets."
