The commitment was there - Moore

Last updated : 14 August 2010 By Duke

Speaking to Millers Player after the game Moore said:

"I think we just about shaded it, I thought it was a great game of football, both sides had chances, it would have been great to see Alfies fly in the top corner from 20 odd yards.

"They have also had chances to win it, Rundle put one just pass the post that on an other day might have gone in. I can't fault the players the commitment was there, we tried to do things the right way, trying to get it down and pass, we passed it really well but on occasions then went for the 70yrd killer ball instead of keeping it.

"I said at half time we need to put our foot on the peddle and really get at them, and I thought the second half was a great game for everyone watching."

The nearest the Shrimps went was when what seemed to be Mcready's header in the second half hitting the post but Moore saw it differently:

"It was Cresswell who the ball came of last, but it was a great ball in and he was up there challanging, and we had a little bit of luck there.

"I think this season there is going to be an awfull lot of games like this, a lot of sides are much the same, there is no one outstanding side where you can say they will run away with the lead."

Nicky Law started the game today after some midweek roumers of a bid coming in from Crawley Town for him, Moore discounted this:

"There has been nothing official come through to us on that, no disrespect to Crawley but I don't think a 22yr old who is playing in the second division wants to go to Crawley."

On news of any players comimg in Moore said:

"We are still trying with regard to our Ian, we put a bid in yesterday , but they have not come back to us. I'm still talking to the players we have mentioned before. I'ts a bit like Coronation Street it goes on and on, but sooner or later something has to give, but we will have an experienced striker in fairly soon."

Asked about looking to the lower leagues for players he said:

"Yes we are looking but they want 200k for players in those divisions, Broadie went to Scunny for 150k after they had got two and a half million for Hooper. We are looking with our scouting network, we have to make sure we are first on the scene when we see them."
