Sunderland - Knills Comments

"I thought i was harsh on the lads, people will look at 4-1 and think we have been murdered. I dont think we were but at the end of the day its 4 goals against and goals we could have dont better with." Knill told Radio Sheffield.

Millers Keeper Mike Pollitt dropped 2 clangers to gift the Black Cats 2 goals, "Mike's an excellent keeper and does'nt make too many mistakes but once they do they're highlighted but theres circumstances why the balls are in that area, but Mikes dissappointed cos he knows he could do better with them."

When asked what positives could be taken from the game "I thought that Hoskins played well with Butler, we made a few chances and Monkey scored a great goal, so theyre the positives, but its difficult when you look at 4 goals against. But when confidence is low as it is, you need to keep clean sheets, 4 goals against even they were'nt great goals, he's hit 2 free kicks but its dissapointing."

"If we could keep it at 2-0 we might be able to nick one, but we come out and they get a free header from a corner and it goes through Polly, but credit to the lads as they kept going."

Youngster Will Hoskins also started the game, and won admiration from Knill "I thought Will got in and played pretty well his movement was good and he was positive with the ball at his feet. He was reliable and that is what he has to work at. I think he did well enough to stay in the team."

When asked about Michael Proctors loan move to Swindon, "They came in for him, Procs confidence is low so we just said if you want to go, go and score some goals and them come back. It's not something like we want him out of the door."

"The supporters were good, they've travelled a long way and they kept going until the end so a big thank you to them."
