Ronnies Reaction - Sheffield United

Last updated : 12 December 2004 By Bigrich.....
Talking to Radio Sheffield, Ronnie was obviously pleased after the comeback against the Blades, "I think we can take a lot of pride from that, At 2-0 nil other teams could have wilted, but give the lads credit, they've come back, shown a lot of pride, grit and organisation and could have won the game."

"We've had the better chances, the one on one's, Junior had the best chance of the game in the first half but hit his shot at the keeper, It must have been a good game for people to watch, but as a manager that was what Rotherham United is all about, the fighting spirit and the crowd realy got behind us."

"There's one thing about the lads - they have never spoke about relegation, the dressing room is bubbling, and to come into a big derby with Sheffield United, to come back from 2 down it's a great result for the lads"

Halsey - Strange one!!
"The timing of the first goal unfortunate, the fourth official indicated four minutes to be added but we played nearly six. I siad to him "you've played five and half minutes there, he replied that he'd played bang on time, coming back out for the second half in the tunnel, I said "It's been on sky! you did play 5 1/2 minutes the ref said he said the forth official misunderstood, I meant five minutes and not four, They're wonderful at finding good excuses."

"It changed the team talk, there was nothing really in the game although they had the better chances. Pollitt made some decent saves, but to lose the goal then and the to mess up again just after half time, we really should have dealt with the situation better, but we didnt and went 2-0 down, we could have wilted but did'nt."

"It's nice to get goals from set peices, and it would be nice to get a few more from free play. I thought we had good opportunitys today but we didnt take them."

"It's pleasing that we have'nt lost the game, but draws is not what we need now, we're in a situation where we need as many wins as we can get, we have 23 games left now, and I'm hoping that the win colum will be a hell of a lot better than is been in the past!!"

Out cold
Speaking about The collision between Martin Butler and Ian Bennet, which resulted in the Millers striker being strectered off stone cold out. "Martin was nice and brave, He's knocked himself out, I spoke to him at half time and he seemed alright, but hes had a checkup at the hospital. Shaun Barker's come off and he's got medial legament problem."

"We have to bring somebody in for next week!, Martin Butler wont be allowed to play as FA rules wont let him."

However, Our friend from over the M1 Colin was again ranting about the officials after having a goal disallowed (wrongly i might add!) for offside.

HA HA HA
He told their official site,  "Why did the linesman have to flag so early and why did a referee with so much experience and knowledge say he got it wrong to Andy Gray? In the tunnel afterwards he didn't say that to me, he said he had to go with his linesman."

"We are talking about a UEFA linesman and a top referee here - if they can't get something like that right then it's time to pack up.Warnockadded: "It was a goal but the linesman flagged too early and we got punished."
