Ronnie QPR Reaction

Ronnie was happy with the result from the first game of the season he told BBC Radio Sheffield, "The way we opened the game was untrue, we passed the ball well, and was unfortunate to go a goal down against the run of the play."

Swaz - So close
"We could have gone one up in the first minute when Swailes has got a flick on and their keepers made one hell of a save to keep it out"

"The heat was unbelievable - you wouldn't put a dog out in that let alone the players and I was glad I wasn’t playing but I was proud of the team by the way they kept the ball, they did that especially well in the first half."

Ronnie was serving a one match ban from the touchline, but the ground meant he was only about 3 rows up anyway (bet Uncle Ken's happy the mobile bill will be low!!). "I think the players were suprised when they thought I was going to be in the main stand but still got me shouting all over the planet."

Ainsworth had a free header for the goal, it was a basic misunderstanding between Gilly and Minto. When the ball was knocked wide and knocked out again, Gilly's come out and Minto thought that he wanted him to stay up and play offside which he didnt so the lad gets a header from 8 yards.

First half especially I was proud by the way we came back, it was good to see Paul Shaw get off the mark l. It will do his confidence the world of good and he plays in the position not really wide on the left but just tucked inside, he's very clever he goes and plays off the striker, I think hes going to get some goals for us.

We just need to quicken up around the box, but I thought our movement from set plays was brilliant today, I think we should have scored from one, Chris
Great Save
Swailes had two headers and Gilly had a great chance late on but he put it over the bar from 5 or 6 yards, so I was pleased with that.

Mike Pollitt made an great save late on but what disapoints me is that Tony Thorpe's just come on, hes 5ft 8 and he gets a free header 5 yards out on the back post and how Pollys got down to that, it was just an unbeliveable save.

It's been a brilliant performance, and if someone had said take a point and done come down here, we'd have taken it, but I'm a little dissapointed we havent won.
