Speaking to the clubs official website, the assistant gaffer isnt too down in the dumps as he looks back on the 3-0 defeat.

"I thoght we started fairly well for the first 5 or 6 minutes we were on the front foot, but we gave a silly goal away. Paul gets caught in possession and the boy Bamfords a good finisher and gives Adam (Collin) no chance and from that moment we're on the back foot."

"You don't need to give teams like Middlesborough a hand because theyre a good team, them we walk about the officials which we don't like to, but it was a ver frustrating afternoon and I've got to be careful what I say because I'm already paying one fine and don't want another if I'm being honest." Raynor said.

"From what we've seen in the replays theres nothing in it, but our friend the linesman who we've known for a long time didnt hesitate at all, but to me thats not a red card, no chance."

Alex Revell was substituted after recieving a kick; "Teams know what Alex Revell can do, he's a big focal point for how we play and so teams have to deal with him. I thought they were very over-physical the number over fouls Daniel Ayala gave away today was frightening but he gets a second chance and told no more even though he'd given away 5 or 6 fouls. Then Alex gets a kick in the head and he's struggling a little bit. We'll wait and see what the doctors say, but we don't feel that Alex got any protection and its disappointing. It looked a nasty kick in the head and lets hope Alex is alright because he's a massive player for us."

"We wanted to wait until half time to make changes, you could hear the frustration in the fans but we wanted to keep the shape, we didnt need to be 3-0 down at half time and totally out of the game."

"The shape woirks quite well, they were always going to have some possesion and we tried to play the percentages and hit them on the break. To be fair, if Matt sticks that one in, thats the chance we were waiting for. A little bit of trepidation from them, we're on the front foot, the crowd get behind us, it could be a set peice or anything, unfortunately its gone the wrong side of the post and wasn't to be."

"Strikers go through these periods, I was a striker so I'm not going to knock Matt Derbyshire with my record. He's given everything and he was brave to go in for the first challenge. We don't need to tell Matt he should have scored, it was a good chance."

"Down the other end they've gone down and punished us, they've been clinical and ruthless, unfortunately we couldnt do that at the other end."

"There will be some tired legs in the dressing room, we've just commended the boys, we've had a chat and the workrate second half was good, Middlesborough keep the ball very well, the guys gave us everything second period."
