No faulting players effort - Moore

The Millers crashed out of the Carling Cup at Peterborough last night and afterwards Boss Ronnie Moore spoke to Millers Player with his thoughts.

"It was always going to be a tough game, this was the best side we could have brought here, and we're not going to be up against strikers like that at our level, they were fantastic," said Moore.

"We knew how difficult it would be, but for a half-hour we held our own, got the goal, then got done with two sucker punches.

"You can't fault our effort but you have to move the ball better. We are fit our lads but we have wasted a lot of energy today by chasing and not keeping the ball. There were a lot of positives in the first half but the game is 90 minutes."

It was Marcus Marshall that had given the Millers the lead after ten minutes, and Moore commented: "He doesn't like playing up front, but when there is no one else he has to play there, he took the goal really well, and he has to believe he can play there, and I'm not too sure he does believe that, he went wide later on and we saw nothing from him."

The Millers ended up with no less than 9 first team players unavailable on the night, capped by Tom Elliott phoning injured. "Tom was playing until he phoned at 3.00pm saying his knee was sore, but he should be alright on Saturday," concluded the boss.
