Speaking on the Official Site Robins said:

"We looked a little rusty to start with but in the end we did very well to win the game, said Robins

"Gillingham have picked up some very good results recently and are around the play-off area so I was delighted with our team performance and the clean sheet."

He went on to say: "The pitch was a little slippy underfoot with the rugby club training on it last night but they are the challenges that the groundsman will have to face. The surface was difficult to play on but I thought we played some good football at times whilst also going direct when we needed to."

Both new signings Jamie Clarke and Simon Thomas were included in the starting eleven.
Robins explained :"We were missing Drewe Broughton today through suspension so I brought Simon Thomas in on a month's loan and gave him his opportunity"

"We had him in training for a couple of days and he did really well considering he hasn't played a full game since November. He is a raw talent so we have plenty to work with."

Robins continued: "Jamie Clarke did well and grabbed a debut goal. Now we have Jamie and Simon it gives us plenty of pace and competition for places and they both made a difference today."
