Knill - We've answered our critics

Speaking to www.themillers.co.uk, Knill commented: "It was a tough game, they are a good side at home but we hung in there and we were some much better than we were the week before.

"When the ball came into the box we took a step forwards instead of backwards and that makes a massive difference.

"In the first half we started really brightly for 15 minutes but then we stopped doing the things we are good at and that's moving the ball quickly. All of a sudden we were looking for more difficult balls instead of keeping it simple.

"We were fortunate to come in at half time at 0-0 but credit to the lads as we told them what we thought at the interval and the first 20 minutes of the second half was excellent.

"In the first half we had had pretty good chances but at the start of the second we put them away, we always feel we can score. It was good to see Justin Cochrane on the scoresheet. He took a gamble by going into the box and it paid off.

"After the setback of the referee giving a penalty - he must have been the only person who thought it was a penalty - you start to worry a bit but we didn't and showed true character and resilience so we thoroughly deserved our third away win.

"At 2-1 they threw everything at us and we had to head it away and clear it all so it was a really good defensive performance.

"Will Hoskins' goal was outstanding but he did nothing else but at the same time my next breath was that I would take it. He is a striker who is in great form and when that's the case everything you hit seem to go in - it was a great finish.

"At the back Ian Sharps was outstanding. There have been quite a few doubters this week and negative talk from all parts, we are a good young squad and we have proved everybody wrong again.

"They all expected us to come here and lose so that's our answer. Gregor looked as if he had picked up ligament damage but it doesn't look too bad at the moment. We will have a look at home tomorrow, Dave Worrell did really well when he took his place.

"The season is only 13 games old and to bounce back and answer all the criticism was good so now we have to take this into next week. If we have the same attitude then we can compete with any team as we have already shown."
