It was a shock - Moore

Last updated : 30 September 2009 By Duke

The first game in charge for the Millers recently appointed manager Ronnie Moore was a disappointment, as he saw his side go down to a 3-1 defeat at Northampton.

Afterwards he spoke to the Official Site saying:

"It was a shock when you consider how well we have played this season," he continued,

"Defensively we were all over the place a little bit tonight and the big lad up front has caused us one or two problems but having said that our 'keeper hasn't had too many saves to make."

"They have scored two excellent goals. The first one was smashed from the edge of the area but the second one we had two opportunities to clear so that was disappointing. You can see that the passing and the movement is there but the difference tonight was that they were more clinical with their finishing."

The Millers conceded the second goal within a minute of the second period starting, Moore said:

"At half time I didn't feel that there was too much wrong but to come out and concede after 40 seconds before we have settled and score a goal like they did, it does hurt you,"

"It is the same side, the same subs but not the same outcome so that worries you a little bit. One or two players have probably not done the right things like they did on Saturday. We might have one or two here that like to entertain at home but are not so good away when are going to be under the kosh at times.

"I am hoping that it was just a nervous game and now it is over. It's gone, the razzmatazz has finished, now we have to win games. It is down to the lads if they perform like they have this season then they will stay in the side, if they don't then I will have look at it."
