Harford Downbeat After Millers Horror Show

Harford was very critical of his team and talking to BBC Radio Sheffield was left in no doubt that Southend deserved their victory. "We’ve had a chat and the harsh true words are that we weren’t good enough. We were 2-0 down but lucky enough to be 2-2 at half time. Then we came out at half time and after five minutes could have been 5-2 down. Give them credit, they have come here and done a job on us but I was very disappointed with the performance today. We had a plan but we don’t seem to stick to things and we were all over the place defensively. We downed tools and heads dropped and that was the disappointing thing. We didn’t compete with them."

Harford: Unacceptable

The Millers boss was also quick to admit that he is not going to accept many more performances like that one. "They’ve had a roasting, they deserve a roasting, Southend deserved to win. We’ve got some difficult games coming up and we’re thin on the ground but I’m not prepared to accept that kind of performance. We’ve got to get better, we’ve got to improve as a unit and as individuals, we won’t be able to forget what happened here, and we’ve got to learn from this. I’ve always said it’s a long season and hopefully we can turn things around".
