Fed up of making same excuses - Scott

Scott saw his side lose their third league game on the spin without scoring and despite making numerous chances after the break, a defensive lapse early on cost his side once more.

He spoke to Radio Sheffield afterwards and said he's fed up of saying the same thing every week.

"Defensively we were all over the place again and they hardly attacked. They had two shots on our goal and we lost the game", fumed the boss.

"It took us until the second half to actually play with a bit of fire in our bellies. It was probably the most dominant second half you are going to get in this league but the first half we were dominated again defensively and that`s cost us. I've had enough of it now and we`ve got to make serious changes to the back four. It doesn't surprise you that people are making the same mistakes over and over again and it's not as if we don't work on it. We do it every single day - every single day - and people still don't want to, or can`t do it, so they won't play."

Scott continued; "I'd love people to come and watch us train as they sit there nodding their heads when we've worked all week on what I've asked, then matchday comes and we can't do it."

Some fans have been critical of Scott's team selection, but he revealed Gareth Evans had been feeling unwell with a virus; "I'd love to have played at full back behind Evo because he was excellent when he came on. He's been unwell for several days this week and we didn't think he'd be able to last 90 minutes. I also felt during the midweek game the lads that came in did really well.

"Attacking wise we didn't get any luck today. We were dominant and we got plenty of crosses in and had plenty of chances. I'm pleased about the way we`ve gone forward but it means nothing because you have to keep clean sheets in this league to win games and get promoted and, at the moment, we don't look like doing that.

"The fans are frustrated with it and I'm equally as frustrated. In the meantime we'll keep working and we'll keep trying to bring players in to improve."
