Despite only beating Wimbledon 1-0 thanks to Alex Revell's late goal, boss Steve Evans felt his sides win was thoroughly deserved.

“I thought we were excellent from start to finish,” Evans told Millers Player.

“I thought we played ever so well but we didn’t get a break in front of goal. We said at half-time that we had to be patient, we had to be mentally strong and if we did that and we kept a clean sheet and could be disciplined then a goal would come. We could have won more, but it’s all about winning.”

Goalscorer Revell collected the sponsors’ Man of the Match award and his gaffer heaped praise on the forward, adding:“I think he’s been like that all season, but people have noticed him more because he’s got a goal and he’s chased some lost causes, but when you work as hard for the team as he does then you’ll always be a big opposition threat.

"You can see the reaction from the playing staff and the supporters that they love him because he wears that red Millers shirt with real pride.”
