Defending cost us again - Stubbs

Rotherham dipped to a 4-2 loss at St Andrews after falling behind after 15 mintues, despite breifly equalising, the Millers never looked like bringing home any points, which would be thier first on the road this season.

Speaking after the game, Stubbs told the clubs official site themillers.co.uk; "I think we’ve got half the team doing what we want them to do and the other half aren’t doing what we want them to do and that’s the disappointing thing, We’ve contributed significantly in the game tonight and we’ve scored two really good goals."

"We’ve got them on the back foot at 3-2 and we’re ready to make a positive substitution and bring Dexter on and then we commit suicide again and the game is gone from you then."

"We've been let down by some very poor defending and I'm sick and tired of saying it. In terms of contributions to games we shouldn't be where we are but when you concede goals like we have done then it spells danger I'm afraid. We'll work hard defensively until they get it right and if they don't get it right then we'll bring other players in."

Stubbs was asked if he felt under threat for his job; he said; "It's football. I enjoy what I do, I love it. I've had relative success with my previous club. I came to Rotherham and it is a project although it hasn't gone the way I'd like it to. But if you're looking for a quitter you're talking to the wrong guy."

"I'm disappointed for the fans tonight. To see their team score two goals and to go away disappointed. We need to give them something to cheer about and we need to do that sooner rather than later."
