“It was as poor as we’ve been. We lacked after the first 15 minutes. They get a goal from a bad individual error and then we didn’t do what we’re good at which is pressing around the pitch. They outworked us which is unlike my teams, but they outworked us and bullied us in key areas. It was uncharacteristic from some individuals and they know. They’re in there hurting, and I’m hurting as well but we have to go home and go again.”
“I think the crowd had already turned a little bit but I keep saying that nobody gives you goals at this level and we can’t give them either. We’ll learn from it and I can’t criticise one player because it was all over the pitch. I think our endeavour and fight was missing tonight and I spoke in what was a very quiet dressing room and I could tell from their reaction that they hurt. We’ll look at the next game after having tomorrow off and we’ll be ready for Saturday.”
