Charity cricket event hits the four grand mark

The match saw a makeshift Upper Haugh side take on a 13 player Rotherham/John Breckin all star XI, with Haugh running out narrow victors.

The home side scored 160 off their alotted 30 overs with Andy Nicholas taking three wickets.

Brecks side made a fist of the reply, with Nicholas going early Mark Crossley smashed 25 before retiring. Highlights also included three sixes on the trot from Millers manager Mark Robins and Miller Bear turning his arm over at the bowling crease!

Former manager Ronnie Moore was last to the wicket greeted with a few cheers but his leg side flick for four wasn't quite enough to see Breckin's team to an unlikely win.

We're delighted to say the total at current count raised for the Hospice stands at £4,400, with likely donations from the club expected for profit in beer sales.

MillersMAD hopes to see a similar turnout for next week's cricket game at Wickersley, for more details on that click HERE.
