Last updated : 12 March 2009 By Deano
Brentford maintained their grip on the leadership of League Two with a narrow 1-0 win over Barnet at Griffin Park in the battle of the Bees. Bean netted the only goal of the game in the 8th minute. Brentford 1st, Barnet 20th.

Wycombe Wanderers slipped to their 4th defeat on the road at Sincil Bank as Lincoln City bounced back after their derby defeat over the weekend. Elding scored the only goal of the game in the 49th minute. Lincoln City 12th, Wycombe Wanderers 2nd.

Rochdale managed to get back in to the automatic promotion places with an emphatic 3-0 win over Bradford City at Spotland. McArdle got the scoring under way in the 49th minute. Then Le Fondre netted a brace of penalties in the 56th and 74th minutes. Rochdale 3rd, Bradford City 6th.

Gillingham left it very late to claim the points against Darlington at Priestfield. Jackson scored the only goal of the game, from the penalty spot, in the 94th minute. Gillingham 5th, Darlington 13th.

Exeter City saw their unbeaten run come to an abrupt end at St James's Park against AFC Bournemouth, who in turn, climbed out of the drop zone again. Stansfield gave City a 13th minute lead, only to see Hollands equalise in the 56th minute. Pitman then netted a brace in the 59th and 87th minutes to claim a vital 3-points for the Cherries. Exeter City, AFC Bournemouth 21st.

Dagenham & Redbridge got back to winning ways with a 1-0 win over Port Vale at Vale Park. Guy netted the only goal of the game in the 25th minute. Port Vale 18th, Dagenham & Redbridge 9th.

Chesterfield edged Grimsby Town as the Mariners tried to climb back out of the drop zone at Saltergate. Talbot gave the Spirites a 55th minute lead. Niven doubled the advantage 20 minutes later with Bennett pulling one back a minute after that. Try as they might, Grimsby could not find a way back to level matters, so remain in the drop zone. Chesterfield 10th, Grimsby Town 23rd.

Luton Town still have a glimour of hope of avoiding the drop to the Conference, but they do need to win all of their remaining matches to do so. A 2-0 away win at Notts County, with goals from Martin in the 25th minute and Craddock in first half injury time keeps a faint light burning for the Hatters. Notts County 15th, Luton Town 24th.

Macclesfield slipped to their 10th home defeat of the season as Accrington Stanley kept the drop zone at arms length. Goals from Williams in the 42nd and Proctor in the 89th minutes was enough for Stanley to take the points home. Macclesfield 16th, Accrington Stanley 19th.

The Millers compounded relegation fears for Chester City with a thumping 5-1 win at the Deva Stadium. Ellison gave City a 14th minute lead, but that's as good as it got for the home side as the Millers then ran riot. Reid levelled from the penalty spot in the 26th minute, with Cummins and Broughton giving the visitors the lead in the 38th and first half stoppage time. Reid completed his hat trick with goals in the 50th and 72nd minutes. Chester City 22nd, Millers 17th.

The games involving Morecambe (11th)/Bury (4th) and Aldershot Town 14th/Shrewsbury Town (8th) both finished 0-0.
