Two Review - January 30th

Last updated : 30 January 2010 By Deano

With Rochdale travelling to Bury on Monday night, AFC Bournemouth returned to winning ways at Gresty Road against Crewe Alexandra to record their 7th win on the road and close the gap to the same number of points. Fletcher put the Cherries ahead in the 22nd minute, with Robinson doubling the advantage in the 63rd minute. Murphy pulled one back for the home side 3 minutes later, but it wasn't enough to secure a share of the points. Crewe Alexandra 15th, AFC Bournemouth 2nd.

Notts County closed the gap on the automatic promotion places following a 2-0 win over Barnet, who seem to be in freefall at the moment with 16 winless games. Hawley gave County a 5th minute lead at Meadow Lane, with Davies scoring County's second 20 minutes later. Notts County 5th, Barnet 18th.

Shrewsbury Town slipped up at home to a single goal defeat against Accrington Stanley at the New Meadow. Grant scored the only goal of the game in the 26th minute. The win lifts Stanley to within 3 points of the play-off places. Shrewsbury Town 6th, Accrington Stanley 10th.

Chesterfield recorded just their 3rd away win of the season with a single goal win over Morecambe at Christie Park as Gritton scored the only goal of the game in the 18th minute. Morecambe 11th, Chesterfield 7th.

Aldershot Town had to come from behind to secure a share of the points against lowly Grimsby Town at The Recreation Ground. Grant put the ball past his own keeper in the 6th minute to give the Mariners the lead. Blushes were spared when Hylton levelled in the 68th minute for the Shots but Adam Proudlock misses a late penalty to leave Grimsby still without a win in 18 attempts. Aldershot Town 8th, Grimsby Town 23rd.

Port Vale secured a decent 2-0 win over Hereford United at Vale Park to lift them to within 5 points of the play-off places. Davies gave Vale a 9th minute lead, but had to wait until the 92nd minute for Richards to put the win beyond doubt. Port Vale 12th, Hereford United 21st.

Northampton Town had to come from behind to secure a share of the spoils against Burton Albion at Sixfields. Harrad gave Albion the lead in the 53rd minute, with Holt leaving it until the 88th minute to secure a draw. Northampton Town 13th, Burton Albion 14th.

Bradford City left it late to secure their 5th away win of the season against Torquay United at Plainmoor. Robertson gave the Devon side in the 15th minute, but then saw Evans net a brace with late goals in the 82nd and 93rd minutes. Torquay United 20th, Bradford City 16th.

The other two matches involving Lincoln City (19th)/Dagenham & Redbridge (9th) and Cheltenham Town (22nd)/Darlington (24th) were postponed due to frozen pitches.
