Scunthorpe United are on the verge of promotion to the Championship as they claimed their 23rd win of the season against Yeovil Town at Glanford Park on Friday evening. A Jones own goal in the 39th minute was enough to seal 3 precious points. Scunthorpe United 1st, Yeovil Town 6th.

Bristol City and Swansea City battled out a 0-0 draw at Ashton Gate in front of 14025. The match livened up with 4 bookings in the final few seconds with the home side picking up one of the 4 and Swansea the other three! Bristol City 2nd, Swansea City 7th.

Nottingham Forest look destined for the play-offs after their 6th away defeat of the season. Their trip to the New Den and Millwall saw Harris score in the 53rd minute to secure the points for the home side. Millwall 11th, Nottingham Forest 3rd.

Oldham Athletic were thwarted at home against Huddersfield Town. Porter had given the home side a 23rd minute lead, but saw Beckett level in the 78th minute. Oldham Athletic 4th, Huddersfield Town 15th.

Blackpool have just about ended the play-off ambitions of Tranmere Rovers with a 3-1 over the Wirral club at Bloomfield Road. Parker gave the home side a 9th minute lead, but saw Zola level in the 29th minute. Hoolahan put the side back in front in the 36th minute to go in ahead at the break. Zola levelled again only to see Morrell secure a 3-2 win in front of 8091 fans! Blackpool 5th, Tranmere Rovers 9th.

Carlisle United kept alive their slender chances of making the end of season play-offs with a 2-0 away win over Port Vale at Vale Park. Graham put the Cumbrians ahead in the 27th minute, with Garner making sure of the points with a last minute strike. Port Vale 12th, Carlisle United 8th.

Doncaster Rovers came south to the Withdean Stadium to secure a 2-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion. Lee put the visitors ahead in the 28th minute. Cadamarteri made sure of the points in the 47th minute. Brighton & Hove Albion 13th, Doncaster Rovers 10th.

Chesterfield kept alive their chances of staying up with a crucial home win over Crewe Alexandra at Saltergate. Miller had put the visitors 1-up in the 8th minute. Downes levelled in the 29th minute, with Shaw making sure of the win with a goal in the 67th minute. Chesterfield 21st, Crewe Alexandra 14th.

Northampton Town are just about safe now as they visited Leyton Orient, coming away with a 2-0 away win ..... their 7th of the campaign. Cox in the 12th minute and an own goal from Palmer in the 40th made sure of the points for the visitors. Leyton Orient 19th, Northampton Town 16th.

AFC Bournemouth are just about safe as well now following a 1-1 draw against Bradford City at Dean Court. McGoldrick fired the Cherries ahead in the 61st minute, but then saw Weir-Daley level in the 92nd minute of time! AFC Bournemouth 17th, Bradford City 22nd.

Gillingham still have some work to do to avoid the drop in to League Two as they went down to Rotherham United at Millmoor. Facey put the home side ahead in the 7th minute. Bastians levelled in the 21st minute, with Crofts putting the visitors ahead 3 minutes later. All was going well it seemed until O'Grady levelled for the home side with 15 minutes left and then Newsham secured a rare win for the Millers in the 86th minute. Rotherham United 23rd, Gillingham 18th.

Brentford will be relegated on Easter Monday if they fail to win against Crewe Alexandra. The penultimate nail in the coffin for the SW London side came at home against fellow strugglers Cheltenham Town as Gillespie (8th minute) and Melligan (47th minute) secured a vital win for the west country side. Brentford 24th, Cheltenham Town 20th.
