Scunthorpe United saw their lead cut to 4 points as they were held on the South Coast at Brighton & Hove Albion . The visitors, who had 4 booked and one sent off, took the lead in the 64th minute through Beckford, only to see Savage salvage a point in the 72nd minute. Brighton & Hove Albion 16th, Scuthorpe United 1st .

Hot on the heals of Scunny are Bristol City who secured their 8th away win of the campaign with a single goal victory at Crewe Alexandra . Showunmi scored the only goal of the game to claim 3 vital points with 5 minutes to go! Crewe Alexandra 13th, Bristol City 2nd .

Four points further back are Nottingham Forest who also claimed a single goal victory over Gillingham at The City Ground. McGugan scored the only goal of the game in the 85th minute. The result leaves the Kent club looking over their shoulders at the drop zone. Nottingham Forest 3rd, Gillingham 18th .

Yeovil Town slipped at home as their automatic promotion chances were dented by Blackpool . The only goal came in the 57th minute from Morrell. Yeovil Town 4th, Blackpool 6th .

Oldham Athletic were made to work for their point against Leyton Orient at Brisbane Road. The Londoners took the lead in the 13th minute through Alexander with Hooper claiming a 2nd in the 70th minute. Taylor pulled one back in the 73rd minute, leaving Liddell to equalise from the spot in the 81st minute. Leyton Orient 17th, Oldham Athletic 5th .

If Tranmere Rovers are going to make the play-offs, it'll definitely be via the scenic route! They manage to edge Port Vale in a 5-goal thriller at Vale Park. Greenacre scored a brace with goals in the 3rd and 35th minutes. The latter coming from the penalty spot. Sonner pulled one back a minute later for the home side. Constantine levelled in the 73rd minute, but it wasn't quite enough as Ellison ensured that the points went back to the Wirral with an 83rd minute winner. Port Vale 12th, Tranmere Rovers 7th .

Swansea City compounded the relegation fears of Chesterfield with a 2-0 win over the League One strugglers at the Liberty Stadium . One of the more unlikely results of the day in League One came at the Keep Moat Stadium where Doncaster Rovers slipped up for the 3rd time at home, but to Cheltenham Town ! AFC Bournemouth boosted their chances of League One survival with a 1-0 victory over Millwall at Dean Court. The only goal of the game came from a first class strike from Darren Anderton in the 19th minute to give the Cherries a 3-point cushion above the drop zone, while denting any play-off ambitions Millwall might have had. AFC Bournemouth 19th, Millwall 11th .

Bradford City remain in trouble, but just above the drop zone, despite loosing at home against Northampton Town . Paynter gave the home side a 62nd minute lead, only to see that cancelled out through a Johnson strike 2 minutes later. The points were secured by Deuchar in the 87th minute. Bradford City 20th, Northampton Town 15th .

Brentford are beginning to look like a side on their way to League Two, along with the side they hosted at Griffin Park, Rotherham United as the bottom 2 battled against the drop. The points went to Rotherham United, who remain 10 points adrift of safety as Facey scored the only goal of the game in the 13th minute. Brentford are (effectively - with goal difference) some 9 points short of safety. Brentford 23rd, Rotherham United 24th .
