Scunthorpe United
dented Bradford City's chances of survival with a 2-0 win at Glanford Park. Second half goals from Sharp (56 mins) and Beckford (76 mins) ensured that United not only stayed top, but also extended their lead. Scunthorpe United 1st, Bradford City 21st.

The game of the day came at Ashton Gate where 19249 watched Bristol City draw with Nottingham Forest. Holt had given Forest a 5th minute lead, which was cancelled out by Orr in the 38th minute. Bristol City 2nd, Nottingham Forest 3rd.

Oldham Athletic claimed a vital win over rivals Yeovil Town at Boundary Park. Their single goal victory came courtesy of a McDonald stike in the 37th minute. Oldham Athletic 4th, Yeovil Town 5th.

Blackpool opened a 4-point gap to those chasing a play-off place with a 2-1 home win over Crewe Alexandra at Bloomfield Road. Hoolahan gave the hosts a 15th minute lead, which was added to by Williams in the 57th minute. A 90th minute consolation from Miller was as much as the visitors could muster. Blackpool 6th, Crewe Alexandra 14th.

Swansea City didn't help their chances one bit with a 2-0 reverse at The New Den against Millwall. A Harris brace in the 31st and 70th minutes (the latter coming from the penalty spot) didn't help. Neither did the sending off of Tate for a second bookable office in the 22nd minute. Millwall 11th, Swansea City 7th.

Tranmere Rovers seem determined NOT to make the play-offs following a 2-0 reverse at home to Carlisle United on Friday night. Goals from Graham in the 10th minute and Gall in the 67th minute were enough to ensure that the points went back up the M6 after the match. Tranmere Rovers 8th, Carlisle United 9th.

Huddersfield Town and Port Vale safely negotiated a mid-table battle in a 2-2 draw at the Galpharm Stadium. Beckett gave the home side a 4th minute lead, cancelled by a Sidje equaliser in the 35th minute. McAliskey netted in the 45th minute, but saw Sodje complete a brace with a second equaliser in the 68th minute. Huddersfield Town 15th, Port Vale 12th.

Brighton & Hove Albion have just about secured League One survival, having amassed 52 points with a 2-0 away win over Northampton Town at Sixfields. A brace from Savage in the 60th and 66th minutes was enough to secure 3 points for the 9th time away from Withdean. Northampton Town 18th, Brighton & Hove Albion 13th.

AFC Bournemouth broke their peculiar win-2, lose-2 sequence on the road at Millmoor against Rotherham United with their 3rd successive win and 3rd successive clean sheet for their 3rd away win of the season. A McGoldrick strike in the 12th minute, with Hayter following up with a 28th minute tap in was enough to condemn Rotherham United to their 9th home reverse of the season. Rotherham United 23rd, AFC Bournemouth 16th.

Gillingham managed to do their chances of survival no end of good against struggling Brentford at Priestfield. Kuffour had given the strugglers the lead in the 7th minute, but saw that cancelled out in the 29th minute by Crofts and then the winner from Jackman in the 88th minute. Gillingham 17th, Brentford 24th.

Cheltenham Town also gave their chances of survival a boost with a key home win over Leyton Orient at Whaddon Road. Finnigan and Melligan gave Town a 2-0 lead with strikes in the 13th and 61st minutes. The visitors grabbed what proved to be a consolation through Alexander in the 63rd minute. Cheltenham Town 20th, Leyton Orient 19th.
