The top-2 clashed at Prenton Park where Tranmere Rovers hosted Nottingham Forest. Almost predictably, both shared a 0-0 draw. Tranmere Rovers 2nd, Nottingham Forest 1st.

Bristol City consolidated their 3rd place with a 2-0 away win over Port Vale at Vale Park. Brown snuck City in to a half time lead in the 45th minute, which was added to by Jevons in the 76th minute. Port Vale 7th, Bristol City 3rd.

Bradford City lept up in to a play-off place with a 2-1 away win over Cheltenham Town at Whaddon Road. Odejayi fired Town in to a 4th minute lead, but it was not to be as Graham levelled in the 52nd minute, and Johnson secured the points in the 59th minute. Cheltenham Town 19th, Bradford City 4th.

No one is finding it easy to travel to Brunton Park to face Carlisle United as the Cumbrians have made their home in to a fortress this season. Their latest victoms were Brighton & Hove Albion who slipped to a 3-1 defeat. Hawley gave the home side a 6th minute lead, which was added to by Gray in the 31st minute. Hackney put the game beyond reach in the 82nd minute, but then saw Revell snatch an equaliser in the 87th minute. Carlisle United 5th, Brighton & Hove Albion 12th.

Yeovil Town have slipped up to a play-off place with a 2-0 over Crewe Alexandra at Huish Park. A Williams og on the stroke of half time gave the home side an unexpected lead, which was added to after the break by Terry in the 71st minute. Yeovil Town 6th, Crewe Alexandra 11th.

Oldham Athletic took Gillingham to bits at Boundary Park with an emphatic 4-1 home win! Haining led the way with a 4th minute strike, which was added to by Porter in the 24th minute. Charlton practically secured the points on the stroke of half time with the home sides 3rd of the game. A Flynn 51st minute penalty was not enough to spark a Gills revival as Porter sealed the Kent sides fate in the 90th minute to make it 4-1! Oldham Athletic 8th, Gillingham 16th.

Chesterfield arrested their recent slide down the table with a good 3-1 over Brentford, who have slipped themselves just recently! All 4 goals came in the final third of the first half. Folan gave the Spirites the lead in on the half hour, with Shaw and Folan adding to the tally in the 37th and 40th minutes respectively. Ex-Cherry - Griffiths pulled one back in the 45th minute. Chesterfield 9th, Brentford 14th.

Swansea City had a surprise home defeat inflicted on them by struggling Huddersfield Town at the Liberty Stadium Taylor-Fletcher netted a brace of goals in the 50th and 60th minutes, which was enough, despite the consolation from Knight in the 81st minute. Swansea City 10th, Huddersfield Town 17th.

AFC Bournemouth and Scunthorpe United battled it out for a draw at Dean Court. MacKenzie put the home side ahead in the 19th minute. The lead didn't last too long as Anderton scored a stunning free kick on his home debut just 3 minutes later. AFC Bournemouth 13th, Scunthorpe United 15th.

Northampton Town compounded the misery for Millwall with a single goal victory over the London side at the New Den. The only goal came in the 42nd minute through Cole. Millwall 23rd, Northampton Town 18th.

Doncaster Rovers chalked up their third consecutive 0-0 since new manager O'Driscoll took over. This draw came against Blackpool at Belle Vue. Doncaster Rovers 20th, Blackpool 21st.

Leyton Orient slipped up at home - after a good start they are not looking too clever in the relegation zone. Taking the points off them this time was Rotherham United, who are well in to plus points and looking to climb the table! Sharps gave the visitors the lead in the 20th minute with Chambers levelling virtually from the re-start. Hoskins restored the lead on the stroke of half time. Miller levelled for the home side, but the points were heading north after Wiseman scored the winner in the 82nd minute. Leyton Orient 22nd, Rotherham United 24th.
