Youngsters need to have patience - Robbo

The team that finished the game against Morecambe on Saturday must have been one of the youngest ever Rotherham United teams.

Homegrown talent in Stephen Brogan 19, Marc Newsham 20 and Jamie Yates 18 all played, and along with loanee Ryan Cresswell 19.

Speaking to todays Rotherham Star Robbo said; "It's nice to see young lads getting a chance and even better when they are forcing their way into contention and doing well enough to stay in, But they have a lot of hard work ahead of them. Bringing young players through does demand patience from everyone - it doesn't happen overnight."

"Lads have to keep their feet on the ground, no head-in-the-clouds business, and they have to keep doing the right things."

"Marc has come in and done well, There's more to come and young players like him need time to fulfill their potential."

"Jamie Yates scared Morecambe with his pace. If he's as good as he thinks he is and gets as good as he thinks he is, then he'll be some player! He is precocious but needs to keep his feet on the floor. But when home-grown players are coming through and scoring goals it bodes well for the future.." he added.
