The midfielder, who joined in the summer on a free has been in and out of the Millers line up since his arrival, but now hopes an upturn in form will spark him into life to enable him to hold down a regular first team place.

Woods had his best game in a Millers shirt in last weekend's game with Nottingham Forest that earned him a place in the team of the week. Speaking to www.themillers.co.uk he explained:

"I feel that my fitness has improved, it was a bit of a grind to get it going pre-season but I was very happy with my performance against Nottingham Forest.

"It should be a good test for us Saturday against Gillingham, I've never played against them but the lads say it should be a tough game and I'm really looking forward to it.

"The fans were great against Forest too which really helps to spur you on. The key thing now is consistency, we've done so well to get where we are and I really think we can get up that table."
