Woods disappointment at Chessie defeat

Talking to themillers.co.uk, Woods explained his anguish at the performance and hopes the team can bounce back tomorrow with a positive result.

"It wasn't a good day for the team or myself. It's been stop, start for me since I came to the club trying to get my fitness to begin with. Now I need a run of a few games to get form going and get my confidence up.

"We certainly need to start picking up a few points again after the two defeats. At Chesterfield it was a strange game as we never played the way we can.

"After getting straight back into the game we fell behind again, defensively we have been really good so far but the second goal came from a rare mistake.

"It will be tough against Tranmere but I fancy ourselves as a squad when we play together, when we do that I think we can compete with any team in this league. I don't really fear many teams but we need to be more consistent.

"It's a new group of players and we need time to settle together but that has to be done quickly."
