We've restored the faith - Warne

Speaking to the Star, the boss looked back at last season and reckoned that the faith had been restored after the previous awful season as the Millers were relegated from the Championship.

“We had big expectations, we had to try and win people’s faith back in the club and the town. We lost the first game away at Fleetwood and I think straightaway a balloon was burst with a few people, thinking maybe myself or the team weren’t going to be good enough."

"It took a few months to get people believing in us and I think they’ve fallen back in love with the club and fallen back in love with the lads I’ve got. They’re great people, they do a lot in the community, a lot in the hospital and I’ve got some great characters in the dressing room."

“I think there’s a real relationship between the players and the fans for a first time in a long time. I’m going to keep the same lads here so a lot of the fans will know them and I think they have a lot more trust in the players now. We could lose the first three games but I think the faith has already been restored.”
