We're not prepared to sign deals that risk the club - Douglas

Speaking to Radio Sheffield, the Millers cheif operating office Paul Douglas explained why the talks to stay at Millmor broke down.

"The key sticking point appears to be delapidation and the condition of the ground is left in when we do move away, we were unable to reach a settlement on that in a position that we were happy with regard to our liabilitys."

"The new owner just simply isnt prepared to sign deals that leave the club high and dry and with the prospect of losing lots of money. Thats how we've ended up in administration twice and we're determinated not to let it happen again." added Douglas

Meanwhile on RotherFM, Douglas hoped to keep the same level of support in terms of crowds; "We're hoping to have the support, obviously it's out of town and for people who are used to travelling to Millmoor there will be a little more travelling."

"We have made this decision now, it was the only decision we could make and we're not going to spend too much time worrying about it now. The task at hand now is to get prepared for next season and give Mark Robins as much support as we can with putting a squad together and hope that our fans remain as loyal as they have and see this a an intresting opportunity for a few years until we are able to move into our new stadium."
