We need a seige mentality - Evans

Speaking in todays 'Tiser, Evans stated that the Millers are the team that people want to beat and the team must toughen up.

“People talk about the ‘us and them’ mentality here and you'd better believe it. We’ve got a fantastic stadium, great support and we take good numbers away with us who really back their team and with that comes envy." he told the advertiser.

“There is jealousy within the game towards Rotherham United and our status in League Two is such that everyone wants to beat us, not the Gillinghams and Bradfords. I watch matches in this division and teams do not celebrate in the same way as they do when they defeat us. It is something the club has not had before and we have to deal with that and have a siege mentality.”

“I’m looking for an average of two points per game now to get us into the automatic promotion frame by January. It’s a big ask but if we play against Wimbledon like we did against Gillingham then we’ll get three points. We’ve got Bristol Rovers away next week and after that the incentive of winning two big games, one in front of what looks like being a sell-out crowd against Port Vale on Boxing Day and the other in front of more than 9,000 against Accrington. Good points returns against those and we'll be right back in the picture.” he added.
