Warne proud of teams efforts

Warne spoke to the clubs official site after the game and said; "I’m obviously really proud of the performance, I’d like to thank all the Rotherham fans who came to clap the team off, which I think says a lot".

"I’m really proud of how we tried to play and tried to stop them from playing out from the back. They’re a phenomenal team, they’ve won six or seven on the spin at home. They haven’t lost at home this year, so to come so close to picking something up is pleasing yet disappointing. It’s this time of the season where you’ve got to pick something up. It’s not about performances, it’s about picking up points but I can’t ask my team to give me much more.”

There was an element of controversy with Swansea's third; "They think it’s  hand ball, but if the ref can’t see it, he can’t see it, I’m not going to hammer the ref. It’s disappointing because I think we’ve got one of the best - if not the best - disciplinary records in the football league, so you don’t very often see my players get around the referee. It was the case today and they’re big decisions that can make or break your season."

"It was the only goal out of all seven that wasn’t replayed on the big screens. At 2-2, the game was swinging and flowing at both ends. I haven’t seen it back but it’s disappointing if we’ve been beaten by an injustice”

"We knew they are a possession-based team and it would be difficult here, We let them have it in certain parts of the pitch but didn’t let them have it in others.

"We went full high press which caused them problems and countered really well. We were always a threat on set-pieces and I’m not saying it was one-way traffic but we could have gone three-up; their ‘keeper made an unbelievable save."

"I said to them in the dressing room, I haven’t berated them. Even the mistakes with the goals, every player in every club in every country makes mistakes. We’re going to mistakes and, unfortunately, the higher the level you go up, the more you get punished. But, from a physical point of view and preparation they cannot give me more and that gives me huge pride."

"If we’re unsuccessful this year and the lads play like that to the very end, I’d like to think that Rotherham fans have seen something this year. They’ve never turned up and not seen their team give their all. It does give me great pride."
