Speaking to the media after the game, the gaffer was honest in his appraisal of the goal-less draw at Preston where the home team put the MIllers under considerable pressure, but The Millers held firm to remain unbeaten in their return to the Championship so far.

“It was a battling point but every point is important. We had a couple of good chances to score, as did they. In the second half, they dominated and we struggled to get out. We did not have a physical presence. We put Georgie on but we were getting overloaded.

“It was a tough night for the lads. There were some tired bodies near the end but to hang on and get a clean sheet against a team, who I feel will be really up there, I’m really proud of them.

“Although they put lots of crosses in. We defended the set-pieces really well. I thought Pelts was outstanding and Hally and Humphreys were really good”.
