AFter recent big wins, Warne said; “It sounds a bit stupid really but a 1-0 win is sort of a bit more satisfying than winning 5-1, It sounds a bit odd but to keep a clean sheet is really good. I think when I stood there you might be thinking ‘I don’t think we’re going to hang on’ but I never felt like that."

“I thought the lads were good today. We created a lot of chances and we’ve defended really well. I thought the ‘keeper was outstanding and all the lads congratulated him after the game. He came for a lot of crosses late on and got a lot out of the box. I’m pretty pleased but we should have got another goal which would have made it a lot easier for ourselves. Overall though, I have to be pleased with a 1-0 win."

“Generally, from the back to the front, they’ve all done well. I know Kieffer will get the headlines but it’s more about the back five who were excellent. Every time they had a corner I felt we dealt with it really well. I felt confident in the group and they will get a lot of confidence from that. We still should have gone on and won far more comfortably than we did but it’s three points nonetheless."

“All the subs I made weren’t forced but Kieffer tightened up. I put Jono on because he’s good in both boxes for me. Will added a bit more pace in the middle. Then I thought I’d put Semi on to deal with some crosses. It’s not normally my style to throw a centre-half on but I’m learning on the go here."

“There was a lot of good performances. On another day Michael Ihiekwe would score a hat-trick but, on the whole, we’re really chuffed.”

Warne turned his attention to the goalscoreer Keiffer Moore; "I thought he did well. It was a good finish. He could have had, possibly, another couple. We’re really pleased with him because he’s a great kid and he works really hard all the time. He’s just one of a great group we’ve got."

“There’s no such thing as an easy goal but it’s good for Kieffer. I’m really pleased he’s playing for us. He’s leading the line well and when he came off he got a great ovation. I’m really pleased for him."

“When I brought him in in the summer, I said he’ll enjoy playing for me because I’m an attacking sort of manager. We’re a bit gung-ho sometimes but he’ll always have loads of chances to score. That’s proved to be the case. I’ve got Bally coming back this week as well to push and, obviously, I’ve got Jono and Jerry as well.”
