"I am deeply honoured and proud to become the permanent manager of this great Club,” Warney told themillers.co.uk

“It is now a tremendous privilege to have been tasked with the responsibility of leading the Club I hold closest to my heart, and rest assured I will be doing everything possible to bring success back to the AESSEAL New York Stadium.”

"It has been a difficult season but whilst we are all feeling some pain at this time, the future for Rotherham United looks positive, On the field I am aware of where we have been lacking as a team, and there has already been extensive strategic planning behind the scenes to make sure that we improve in a number of areas including recruitment and an upgrade to the current training facilities. I want these changes to not only benefit the Club during my tenure, but I need to be satisfied that this great Club has been passed on in a stable condition for years to come.”

"The plans are exciting but above everything else the Club is nothing without the support of our fans, I want to make the AESSEAL New York Stadium an enjoyable place for our fans to come. I want them to be proud of our team both on and off the field.

“I mentioned my strong bond with the Club earlier. I have been hurt as much as you have with what has happened this season, but I know I have what it takes, with your support, to bring the good times back. " the 43 year old said.

“I thank you for all the good wishes and support since I took over as interim manager, and I ask you to really get behind what we are looking to do here because I honestly believe the Club's future remains as bright as ever.

"The staff have been brilliant, and the players have also given everything for me. Whilst it has been tough, I have never questioned their efforts and I thank them for that.

“It won't be a quick fix but what I can say is that the long-term benefits of what we looking to implement will put the Club in a position of greater strength for many years to come. Stay with me, keep believing and, as always, get right behind the players for the remainder of this season and beyond." he added
