Warne aiming to keep trio

Richie Towell, Josh Emmanuel and Marek Rodak have all returned back to thier clubs after impressing with the Millers last season, and boss Paul Warne admits to wanting them back at the New York Stadium.

“They have done brilliantly, the loan players have been excellent and I would love to keep all of them but I have got a funny feeling it might not be as easy as I hope, I would like to keep the group together and improve it, I don’t really want to lose three of them straight away, but they are not my players, they are somebody else’s, those clubs will be pleased with us for what we have done with their players.”

Former Miller Paul Hurst has taken the reins at Ipswich and Warne reckons Josh Emmanuel will probably feature in Hurstys plans there.

But, if Warne fails to get all three back, he says the loan market will play an important part again as the Millers look to compete in the Championship next season; “What has been a massive success this year, which has been key this year and will be key again next year, is that the loan market enables you have to players you possibly couldn’t afford, that’s the truth."

Meanwhile, talks with goalkeeper Rodak are reported to be going positively.
