The Millers have called for the fans to rally round and help the club bridge the £100k gap in funding for the new stand.

The fans have already donated nearly £200,000 via RUST to the club in the recent share issue, however the clubs shareholders did'nt take up their allocation of shares and have left the club short.

Millers vice-chairman David Veal told the clubs official website, "The fans have done remarkably well in raising £200,000 in just 26 days. Unfortunately, we have not had the same level of support from private investors and businesses. This has left us £100,000 short to get started so we are appealing to supporters to continue donating to RUST"

"Just under 1,000 supporters have donated so far which is great. But we have 3,200 season ticket holders and at least 1,000 other diehard supporters. We are asking them to follow the lead of their fellow supporters and donate what they can - remember, just 1,000 people donating £100 each would bridge the gap," Veal added.

Need some more please!!
Fans can donate via the RUST website, The same benefits as before are still available, such as your name on a brick at Millmoor - available from the Bronze level upwards.

All donors (Bronze and above), existing and new donors will be placed into a prize draw to have a chance of winning a £1000 Holiday, with other prizes of Weekend Breaks, signed shirts and footballs also included.

The RUST website is at www.RUFCtrust.co.uk

The team will be running out with a complete new look new season as not only have we got a change of kit, but also a new sponsor.

Last week news emerged that Earth Mortgages sponsorship of the Millers was to come to an end, just in time for a new sponsor for the new kit!!

Earth's popularity with the Millers faithful soured after the failed takeover attempt last year, where the decision to pull out of the deal was left until the day before the deal was supposed to be completed.

The Millers chairman Peter Ruchniewicz has thanked both Earth Mortgages and kit suppliers Bodyline for their involvment with Rotherham United over tha last few years.

The search is on for a new club sponsor!!

Millers to go 'Team Building'

Mick Harford will be taking his team to Leicestershire on a team building excercise during the summer break.

Harford told todays Rotherham Star "We'll be going to Champney's in Leicestershire, which is a place that has been used by the England squad,"

"It will be good to get the players away. We'll have a few days together, working on things, talking, getting to know each other and we'll take full advantage of the excellent facilities as part of our pre-season work." he added.

The Millers will play a pre-season game at nearby Coalville at the end of the week, Saturday 16th July

Harford is hopefull that he will have some new faces within his squad, however is keeping tight-lipped over naming any targets. He told the official site today - "I won't be revealing any names of possible newcomers as I think that's the way things should be done. Hopefully there will be new signings here and that is something I am working hard towards."
