The Millers boss was on tonights Football Heaven, and gave the latest on the transfer front.

"Well at the moment the players are having thier summer break, but in terms of players in and out there's nothing as such at the moment. Gary Montgomery will sign this week which is a bonus for us."

"Like most managers we talk constantly about players and whos free and whos got what left on contracts etc, thats part and parcel of the game at the moment, we're all trying to find the best player for the best deal."

"I'm looking at all aspects of the team, I think we do need a new influx of players and that no disrespect to the players we have. I feel we need to generate some cash and lower the wage bill, it seems that I'm repeating myself all the time, but these are the things we have to do try and enhance the chances of having a good season next year."

Harford has made enquirys about some players and has meetings planned for next week he told Radio Sheffield, "Your always on the phone and talking to people, I have two meetings this week, one in Manchester and one in Derby, So your out and about."

"It's a great challenge and one I'm going to enjoy."

"Theres been people enquiring about our players, I wont hide the fact that we have had conversations about some of the Rotherham lads, I'm not suprised theres some good players here, and I've been speaking about bringing players in." However Harford wouldnt give any names.

The interviewer then moved onto Mick turning down the assistant managers job at Man City, to which Mick gave some background and the reason why he turned it down.

"On the day that I was appointed manager at Rotherham, Stuart Pearce said to me that if I (Pearce) get the job will you consider to come with me? and true to his word, he's a top bloke Stuart Pearce, he rang me up on holiday and offered me the position."

"I gave it a lot of thought and took time over the decision and I thought that it wasnt right for me. Rotherham had given me an opportunity to manage the football club, it's a great little club and I feel the club is moving forward. I felt loyallty to Rotherham and I hope I can bring them some success."

"Rotherham United have given me a great opportunity and I want to repay the faith they have shown in me."

"I've got meetsing with a few agents and players this week, but I cant put a timescale on these things. Before you sign a player theres a lot of things that has to be agreed and done, so I can't put a time on that, all I can say is that I will work tirelessly and looking at every angle and every player that is available to Rotherham United."
