Tony needs help - Redfearn

The Millers sacked boss Alan Stubbs yesterday and the hunt for a new first team manager is underway with Kenny Jackett being the early frontrunner.

However former boss Neil Redfearn gave his views on Radio Yorkshire last night.

“I think the club's got to look at itself really. Are managers getting a proper opportunity at the football club?" he said.

“I think Tony Stewart has done a fantastic job as chairman to get them to that point, but the guy probably needs some help because they can't compete financially at that level.

“And as much as they don't like that message getting out, it's a fact." he added.

“He needs some help. If Rotherham United are going to compete at that level and be a competitive mid-table Championship club then it needs some financial backing.”

Tony Stewart deserves the freedom of the town for me, but I can't really disagree with what he's saying... That said. Warnock did alright with the same players Redfearn couldnt get going.
