After only joining the Millers a week ago the 28 year old has already bought a house in the area after initially staying at the Holiday Inn, with only five weeks until his wife gives birth to his son, the last few days have been hectic.
“It has been a stressful time. I’ve had a few sleepless nights trying to sort everything out but it will be worth it in the long run, I’m trying to get all my sleep in now because I’m not going to be sleeping much when the baby is born!” he told the Star.
Alex score 16 goals for Orient last season and was happy to get off the mark in his debut for the Millers; “It was great to score on my debut, I wanted to make an impact and prove to everybody that the gaffer was right in bringing me to the club."
“It was pleasing to get the two goals but the result was disappointing. Hopefully it was just a blip and we can get back on track this weekend.”
“The chairman wants success and to take the club into the Championship. When I spoke to the manager, it was apparent he had the same beliefs as the chairman and that is what you want to hear as a player."
“I said to my wife that if I didn’t make this move I would regret it. It was a no brainer for me. It is a big move for my family as we have never been up north before but it is exciting and we are looking forward to it. It is a great time to be part of the club and hopefully we can get promoted this year.”
"The gaffer likes it hard and the training is quite intense but I like that as a player. The quality of the squad is definitely up there and I think we have got what it takes to get promoted.”
