Takeover Deal Done??

With time ticking down before the curtains will be drawn on the Millers extinction rumours are rife that a takeover of the club will be happening this week.

Last January
Millers05 who have been in charge for 15 months have been holding meetings with 2 so far un-named businessmen and officials from the clubs supporters trust (RUST).

However the rumours started doing the rounds last Friday that a deal had been struck and that a takeover was imminent.

Rumours on the various messageboards give a number of names of people from long term fan Dennis Coleman to former Parkgate Retail World owner Eddie Healy as being in line to take over although nothing is concrete as yet.

The Rotherham Advertiser has reported that the 2 anonymous businessmen have got quite a lot of support from the local business to save the Millers. Speaking to the 'Tiser they said, "It's a case of ironing out a few bits and pieces. I'd like to think we can sort it out, but with anything like this you can't be sure until it happens."

"We believe we have enough funding in place but obviously we will need a lot of support after that. The main thing is to get the club to survive and get away from the threat of liquidation, which is very imminent. We have got to get the club away from that situation and take it forward from there."

"We have literally been working around the clock and I hope we can do a deal, but it's important for the fans to keep behind the club."

Meanwhile it's hoped that after yesterdays sponsored walk the Save The Millers campaign will top the £200,000 mark.
