Robins, a former striker himself has assembled a group of five strikers over the summer and he is backing them to fire.

New capture Derek Holmes, a 6ft plus target man is the signing that many fans wanted and Robins believes that he will not only be a success in himself but will also bring out the best in Chris O'Grady. The Millers boss told the Rotherham Star: "Derek Holmes gives us something we haven't got. He and Chris O'Grady are different types of players.

"Chris is still coming through, he will be better this season and will benefit from having Derek in there."

Despite hinting that O'Grady, who signed in January from Leicester and Holmes will be the first choice pairing, Robins has highlighted that his other three strikers will have a chance to shine. "They (O'Grady and Holmes) can play together, I've no doubt about that, but it is far from being just about those two up front.

"Tom Cahill has come in from non-league football and he wants to grab his chance whilst Marc Newsham will be looking to break through. Then there will be Ryan Taylor pushing them."
