Stocksbridge Park Steels 2-2 Millers

Last updated : 18 July 2006 By Deano
The Millers youth let a two goal lead slip in tonights friendly at Stocksbridge after the home side rallied after the break.

The lads started positvely, with a side containing just one lad with first team experience in Mark Newsham, and took the lead on eight minutes when Luke Pritchard netted.

Steels came back into the game in patches but Pritchard and Liam King looked impressive at the heart of the defence as the Millers rebuffed any pressure applied.

Jamie Green looked dangerous on the left and it was through that channel that the second goal game just before the break, as Newsham clinically headed home from a whipped in centre.

After a half time pint and pie and peas it was back to the action where Stocksbridge reduced the arrears on 55 minutes. Rotherham pushed forward for a third to kill their non-league opponents off but the home side managed an equaliser in the final minute as it ended 2-2 infront of a reasonable Millers contingent.
