Stockdale joined the Millers from Middlesborough last summer after spending a successful spell on loan at Millmoor the season before.

H
owever, the left-back has not had the best of times at Millmoor, with many fans being unhappy with him and not fulfilling the potential shown in the load period.

The 25 year old made 45 appearances for the Millers scoring one goal which was in the 3-0 win over Burnley at Millmoor last season.

On letting the player going, Peter Ruchniewicz told the clubs official website Chairman Peter Ruchniewicz said: "Everyone is aware that the club needed to free up funds for new players in other positions. We can now intensify the search for new players, particularly in midfield where our coaching team believe we need more competition. We have plenty of cover at right back, so allowing Robbie to leave made a lot of sense."

Stockdale has signed a 18 month deal with the Tigers, and left Millmoor on a free transfer.
