Stewart celebrates planning permission

As the Millers moved one step nearer coming back home to Rotherham, the chairman and his directors celebrated todays news.

"We're just cracking one bottle open. This news brings football back into Rotherham, I think the fans and people of Rotherham welcome that so thats a big thing." Tony said.

"The new stadium will be modern, with the designs that we've had put to us. We've yet to make a decision as yet but theres 4 designs come to us and it's going to be good for the football club and good for Rotherham."

"Don Valley has been needs and must. Millmoor wasn't to be and the only option, the very only option was Don Valley. And being a positive person I think there has been a lot of positive sides to Don Valley."

"The failing side is obviously not having the four enclosures and not being closer to the pitch and the action but having said all that, the hospitality, the food, the people at Don Valley, the people in charge have treat us like royalty. The facilities are first class along with the changing facilities so I think having said all that, this is the promised land - coming back to Rotherham. Getting the planning permission today that we wanted, a lot of work has gone into that and it's good news for Rotherham."

Asked when fans could expect to be moving into thier new home; "We've always had a deadline of August 2012 for the 2012/13 season, thats what we're aiming for which is about 18 months away. We've a lot to do."

"Work was going to start at the end of Febuary but its now looking like March becuase of certain details but we're looking to get the shovel into the land around March time." Tony added.
