Starlet Pringle staying put, says Evans

Pringle, who signed a contact extension with the Millers at the beginning of the season, has attracted interest from Championship clubs with Reading reported to be lining up a bid for the 24-year-old.

"There's been interest in Ben Pringle but he isn't going to go anywhere," Evans said to the press. "That has been made very clear to two managers who have enquired about him.

"There is not a chance on this planet that we are going to lose a player who we categorise as one of our top guys. There's no secrets between me and the chairman and when I have had those calls from the managers, not just about Ben, then the first person I phone is him.

"The brief is always the same, if I don't want to sell them then they stay as Millers."

Evans added: "If an offer comes that is too good to turn down then I will be saying to the chairman 'look at this offer'. But there aren't many football clubs that will come and give you double the valuation of a player. It just doesn't happen."

Meanwhile reports today in Scotland have rebuffed that Rotherham have tabled a bid to St Johnstone for in-form striker Stevie May.
