Sorry to see young players leave - Robins

Last updated : 15 May 2009 By Bigrich.....
Both players had been out on loan to non league clubs during the season and both were in the list of 9 players released by the club which was announced this week.

Speaking to todays 'Tiser, Robbo gave his thoughts; "I'm always sorry to see homegrown players move on but there had to be a parting of the ways."

"Yates has a lot of ability but needs to ally that with the workrate needed at this level. He should be playing higher up and I'm sure he'll find another club."

"Newsham is a good little player. He's better technically than most but our position down the leagues counts against him and he lacks the bit of pace and power you need in League Two. Having said that he's done really well under two of our old players, Rob Scott and Paul Hurst, who are in charge at Ilkeston. I wish him and Jamie all the best."
