SIV to invest on Don Valley pitch

Don Valley Stadium are looking to vastly improve the playing surface for next season with a total closure of the pitch to everybody in May.
The state of the Don Valley pitch has been a talking point since Bono & co ruined half of the pitch.

However this week Sheffield International Venues confirmed that staff from SIV and the Millers have agreed on a intensive programme of work when the season has ended.

Pat Smith, Don Valley Stadium general manager told today's 'Tiser: "The adverse weather has provided a challenge for everyone involved but we have not given in to this. We have sought the best professional advice available and due to this investment we willl be able to maintain a suitable surface for the rest of the season in spite of what the elements may still throw at us."

"The pitch itself will be completely closed to all users during May, when further seasonal work will take place to improve standards even further."

Let's hope we get up automatically then eh?
