Scotty back in full training

Scotty has had the unenviable job of training on his own again for the past few months and will be able to give Macca a few tips as he as had the same injury.

as we like him
He told the official site "I feel good after so long out of action and it's great to join in with the rest of the lads. Up to now I haven't been involved in too much physical contact but that will come later this week when we get down to more ball work. I will be looking to regain my first team place but with the new players we have signed there will be plenty of competition for places. However, I am fortunate in that I can play in a number of different positions."

Scotty's place was taken by young Shaun Barker who has come in and done well. But as seen last season Barker (S) can play almost anywhere be it at right back, centre back or even in midfield where he looked excellent.

Defender or Midfielder?
This is a problem for Ronnie as he's unsure where to play him, "Shaun has played at right-back and centre-defence and, for me, looks comfortable doing either," Moore told the Rotherham Star.

"But he did a good job for us when he went into midfield and he showed he can handle that role too. It is great having players who can play in different positions and are comfortable in them as well but we might have reached the stage where we need to decide Shaun's best position."

"I think he is good enough to hold down a role in the First Division, but there is a danger with versatile players that they shuffle around, filling in here and there and never making a place there own," Moore added.

Ronnie has made 3 signings so far, 2 defenders and a midfielder and is still looking to strengthen the squad, and depending on where Shaun's playing position lay is probably playing some part on where Ronnie will look to improve the squad.

Left Winger Andy Monkhouse has yet to sign a new contract and is currently on a weekly contract, Crewe's intrest in him has died down however he is struggling with a knee injury at the moment.
