Scott's taking the flack for us - Taylor

Taylor tells the 'tiser that its the players that should be getting the greif, not the gaffer.

“He's taking the flack when it's really nothing to do with him as far as I'm concerned; it's the players. We're the ones on the pitch doing stupid things. We make mistakes and get punished."

"He's a good manager and he's been brilliant since I have been here. There is not a manager that works as hard as him, I can tell you that. He's the first one in and the last one out. It's up to us to buck up our ideas and get out of this rut and get a win and I'm sure we'll be alright.”

“It's hard work going down the other end of the country to watch a game of football but I don't think you can question that the players want to do well. It was a disappointed dressing room at Dagenham; it was a hard place to be. As players, we try our hardest. We never go out and don't want to win. We want to win for the fans as well as ourselves and obviously it hurts when we hear booing coming from the terraces, especially as we are walking off when we've just lost. It's hard to take on top of a defeat.”

“We gave away two set-piece goals, which was inexcusable, You don't do that at Sunday League level so to do that at professional level is disgraceful to be honest, especially when they are two free headers. The deflection was a bit of bad luck but you need to make your own luck. You can't say we were unlucky again, because it's happened too many times."

“We should have been at least two or three goals up and we should have killed the game off. We played alright but didn't take our chances and that cost us.”

Having extended his loan deal until the end of the season last week, Rhys said; “Personally, I'm happy to have signed until the end of the season but I don't want to be conceding goals like I did on Saturday. It's not what I'm about and obviously it hurts me when there's sloppy defending and they score. It's really hard to take."

“We're in a difficult patch and we need to pick ourselves up and crack on and just take our chances.”
