Scott expects tough Southend test

Talking to themiillers.co.uk Scott reflected on the drubbing Southend gave us at DVS earlier in the season and urged his team to play with strength tonight.

"They did a job on us at Don Valley, There is no doubt about that, and 4-0 was probably flattering. They didn't have many shots but they were ruthless. That's why they're at the top because they've done it for the majority of the games. I saw them against Port Vale where they didn't play great, but they managed to get a result."

"We know Southend on a Friday night is going to be difficult, especially if the conditions are going to be tricky as well, We'll be going there with the same attitude as we did at Dagenham, we want to create chances, play as well as we did, but we want to restrict the opportunities for the opposition."

"We've got to be better from set plays, because they've got good deliveries from Ryan Hall, and we saw that from the long throws and the corners that they scored against us earlier in the season. So we've got to be mentally strong to deal with that."

Shaun Harrad is expected to make his Millers debut up front.
